Every songwriter knows the fragment stage: a phrase that might be a chorus, four lines where two are good, the too-honest verse about someone who'd recognize themselves. Songs are embarrassing before they're finished — that's not a flaw in the process, it is the process — and the fragment stage needs a container with no audience whatsoever.

Notes apps fill with these fragments, synced to the same cloud as everything else, one shared-folder mistake from an early draft escaping. Co-writing platforms are for later. The verse about your marriage is for now, and for no one.
