Practices
A dream journal you'd actually be honest in.
Written before the coffee, sealed after.
Dreams don't survive long after waking — a few minutes, sometimes less — so a dream journal lives or dies on friction. It has to be open before the coffee, before the inbox, before the dream finishes dissolving. A single file on your nightstand device, one passphrase, a blank page: that's about as little friction as writing gets.
And dreams are the least filtered material you will ever put into words. People you know behave impossibly; things surface that you wouldn't say aloud. A dream journal in a cloud app is exactly the kind of writing you'd unconsciously start to censor. Sealed, it can stay strange.
The Sealed Journal won't interpret anything. No symbol dictionaries, no AI telling you what the water meant. The record is the practice: write it down raw, date it, seal it. Patterns, if they exist, are yours to notice — months later, reading back, in your own words.
The Typewriter Experience
The cursor stays. The text moves.
In Write mode, your cursor remains exactly at the centre of the screen. The page rises up to meet it. Past words fade into soft shadow at the edges, leaving the present sentence in clear focus. Switch to Read mode and the entry flattens into an evenly lit document — the fade is for writing; the flat light is for returning.
Radical Privacy & Encryption

- ✕No social sharing. Your vulnerability is not content.

Get The Sealed JournalQuestions
Should I write dreams immediately or later in the day?
Immediately, in whatever broken fragments you have. Fragments written at 6:40 beat full sentences reconstructed at noon.
Does the app analyze or interpret dreams?
No, deliberately. Nothing reads your entries — not for symbols, not for sentiment, not for anything. What the water meant is your question to sit with.
Can I keep dreams alongside my regular journal?
Yes — entries live in one sealed journal, dated. Many people simply start dream entries with a marker word so they're easy to spot when reading back.
