# Letters you write to send nowhere.

_Addressed, finished, and sealed._

There are letters that need to be written and must never be sent. To the person who left. To the person you were at nineteen. To a parent, living or not, with everything finally in the right order. The practice is old and it works the same way it always has: you say all of it, address it, and send it nowhere.

The one thing an unsent letter cannot survive is the possibility of being read. Written where anyone might find it — a drafts folder, a notes app, a synced document — the letter hedges. The true sentence stays unwritten and the whole exercise politely fails.

The writing is the point — saying it fully, in order, without managing the recipient's reaction. What you do with the words afterward is optional.

### Could I accidentally send or share an entry?

No. There is no send or share button anywhere in the journal. The only thing that leaves it is an encrypted backup you deliberately create — never something a tap can do by accident.

### Can I write letters to people who have died?

People have used unsent letters for that for as long as the practice has existed. The journal holds whatever you bring to it, in confidence.
